Pineapple Sage Leaf

Pineapple Sage Leaf

Herb Leaves

Pineapple Sage Leaves are fragrant and floral, with a slightly bitter and quite pineappley flavour. These leaves are at their best when they are very little and young, at which point they are quite soft and lovely – these are in high demand with pastry chefs who are looking for the tips and most delicate parts. As the leaves grow bigger, they become a bit more fibrous and intensely flavoured. At this point they are perfect for chopping up to make Pineapple Sage Icecream, which tastes absolutely amazing!

See: The Shoebox Kitchen’s Pineapple Sage & Coconut Fleur de Lait), Denise Appel’s Berkshire Mountain Ethereal Gin Pineapple, Pineapple Sage & Vanilla Cocktail and Helene Dujardin’s Honey Apricots and Pineapple Sage Hazelnut Financiers

We always keep some of these plants growing until they flower because the Pineapple Sage Flower is really intense and gorgeous.
